How do you work out this 2-step algebra equation step by step?
for example it have to set it up like this
5x+2x+8=64
5x+2x+8=64
7x+8=64
-8 -8
------------------------
7x/7 = 56/7 x=8
The pressure on a scuba diver at sea level is 14.7 pounds per square inch (psi). The pressure increases 0.445 psi for each foot of depth. Suppose the pressure on a diver is 32.5 psi. How deep is he?
i have know idea how to show it like that, but id just do
1.) 32.5 minus 14.7= 17.8 (which is how much psi he has on him at his current underwater level)
and then
2.) 17.8 divided by .445 (his current depth divided into psi)= 40.
so thats my guess, but i dont know.
