i would like to hear from commercial Divers please..?

doing some homework before i make my decission on going for training and would like to compare the pro's and con's. And the risks involved. I am aware of the bends but is there anything else?

There's risk the second you get out of bed for any occupation. If you make diving a career choice, we call it manageable risk. You...are responsible for you. Only you can decide if the financial reward is worth what you put out. A DCI hit is about the worst of it, yes, and may be something that you'll have to work around on a daily basis. It can , besides being fatal, be a career ender for the survivor. Then again, it may not, depending on what you're doing. Nothing to stop you from being a dive super or a chamber op if you incur a serious hit.
If you've done your homework, you'll have found that there are a ton of commercial schools in North America and all will expect you to pony out about 8 grand in both equipment and training costs. I've not heard anything negative about any of them which is surprising for a self regulating industry that only really needs to answer to an individual country's health and safety government's departments.
Pros: There's a lot of money to be made, depending on your training. There can be a lot of travel involved. You have a great office. The people are great, there ARE no a$$ holes as they generally don't last long. If you're good, there will always be work.
Cons: It can be expensive to get into. You aren't going to be a working diver right out of school, you'll probably tend for a year with most companies. A family life is difficult to maintain, most of the guys I know are divorced or about to be. It can be difficult to know when to walk away. If you get into Sat diving...that's your world, nothing else.
I dunno man, only you can decide what's right for you. I'm personally fine with all the "cons" as they really aren't cons to me, just societies idea of them. I like closing my office door and not having to deal with top side nonsense.
