Can you actually run of out air when using hookah diving ?
I know that the hookah air supply uses an air compressor to pump air, but can you actually run out of air like scuba ?
If there is a failure with the compressor system such as a loss of power on electric compressors or running out of fuel for fuel powered compressors then, yes, you would run out of air. The air that is being pumped down to the diver using a hookah system is drawn into the compressor intake which not only compresses the air but also pulls moisture, particulate matter and bad gasses out of the air before it is delivered to the diver.
The Hookah system may also use compressed air cylinders as an air source which would then follow the same the rule that when tey are empty then you will be out of air.
