How can I get my pool water clear?
Our pool water was really, really green because our pool cover ripped halfway through the winter. Then we took the cover off and after a few days it had a greenish blue tint to it. Last night we put 4 gallons of liquid chlorine in it and ran the filter all night long and backwashed it every 3-4 hours. This morning it is a blue color. Now how do I get it clear? I have no idea what is next. Thanks in advance.
Ok, to be truly honest you have no idea what kind of issues you are dealing with until you get the pool water tested. You can see the blue/green algae but you calcium levels, hardness etc are all probably whacked out and to get this balance you need to test. take a jar of your pool water and go to home depot. They have a pool water testing machine- follow the instructions, enter all your answers and the machine will print out what is wrong and how much of every chemical you need and how to fix this
